A Rust workspace of 22 members — the desktop app, 20 library crates (engine, compositor, codecs, PSD, tools, UI, design system) and integration tests. Every pixel operation runs in one CPU engine and the GPU only displays the result, so the headless test suite checks exactly what the user sees. 69 tools, 71 filters, 22 adjustments, 27 blend modes, ICC colour management, a video timeline, .atn actions and a JavaScript scripting window.

The story

Own your own Adobe

Creative software has moved to subscriptions and the cloud. Raster Studio is a bet that a single builder with a disciplined test-first process can deliver a professional, Photoshop-compatible editor that you own outright and that never phones home.

One engine, tested headlessly

Every pixel is computed by one CPU engine; the GPU only shows the result. That means the 6,534-test suite renders exactly what the user sees — on Windows, macOS and Linux in CI. A release dry run already produces a Windows installer, a macOS disk image and a Debian package.
